Zorica Vasic Rutgers

I am mostly helping people who want to individuate from the parental matrix, who come from families with narcissistic patterns of upbringing. Whether your background includes a parent who had alcoholism, had a personality disorder and any other interpersonal problems in the family of origin that compromised your sense of well-being and feeling of emotional and physical safety about being in the world. Individuals who grew up in such families often end up in a relationship that mimics their own. From that angle, I also work with couples who have a variety of baggage they took with them from their past.
Furthermore, I can help with the issues around emigration, cultural shock, and feelings of non-belonging and isolation from the mainstream culture (and spirituality).
Finally, I can help with the issues of being “stuck” or struggling to advance towards the person you are meant to be.
If you want to work on yourself to develop, evolve, and tap into your creative capacities more effectively, I offer psychoanalytic treatment at this time. This requires a minimum one-year commitment, with meetings four times a week (once or at most twice online, and twice in person – on the couch, just like in those New Yorker cartoons:). We address your upbringing, family dynamics, emotional development and maturity, spirituality, relationships, dream analysis, and more.
The cost per week is $150 +HST. Please call me if you’re interested; this is just a fraction of the regular price for the psychoanalytic treatment.

Mariana Lafrance

Hi I’m Mariana. I specialize in working with young adults ages 18 to early 30s. If that’s you, then welcome!

Looking back at my own early adulthood, I see how my first steps into the world on my own were exhilarating… so many firsts, so much freedom… and in the process I was increasingly confronted with the alienation, overwhelm, sadness and anger I had worked hard to outrun in childhood. I experienced a paradoxical collision of my new expansion and my old powerlessness, which deeply confused me. I attempted with greater and greater force to solve my way out of it in the only way I knew how: by pushing through and counting only on myself. It was a losing battle and it was bewildering.

Coming of age in a context of great global change is not for the faint of heart. And yet we’ve come into this life to dare and dream, and give voice to our hearts. Know that you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Together we can take steps towards coming to know the hurt that crowds in as you find your way to living your truth. With gentle presence (and with humour and lightness, when appropriate) we can befriend it and uncover what possibilities emerge when we stay with ourselves and come home to acceptance and curiosity for ourselves and others.

Letting in support can take time and courage. I look forward to hearing from you when the time is right, and in the meantime I invite you to visit my website to learn more.

Please note that my low-cost rate listed here is only available to Affordable Therapy Network clients, so let me know that you found me here!

Note: I do not use AI-powered note-taking tools in my practice.
