Life can be challenging. We try to do our best with the life we are given but can still find ourselves stuck. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by hopelessness, uncertainty, and grief. I can support you by offering a space where you can be seen and heard and help you to find your own path forward. We are all struggling to make sense of who we are, but we don’t have to do it alone.
I support individuals navigating:
- Depression
- Relationship challenges
- Life transitions
- Men’s identity and mental health
I work with clients who want to deepen their knowledge about themselves, develop healthier relationships, and take agency in shaping their future. People I work with may struggle to feel secure in their relationships, experience low self-esteem, or are aware that something is wrong but don’t know how to move forward.
Approach
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, my approach focuses on compassion, curiosity, and creativity to help you connect with yourself. I work collaboratively because no one knows more about your life than you do. While learning about ourselves can be difficult, there can also be joy in self-discovery. I use an existential and socially-conscious lens based in the belief that developing our self-understanding can bring peace, empowerment, and resilience.
My approach draws from:
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Attachment theory
- Solutions-focused therapy
- Somatic and existential approaches
- Mindfulness and bodily awareness
My approach focuses on developing insight and viewing a problem holistically and with compassion.
What to expect
I work from a client-centered perspective. This means we will work together to find an approach and pace that works best for you. I’m not here to teach you how to live or tell you what’s wrong. Instead, I strive to walk with my clients on their journey towards growth and greater understanding.
About me
I come from a background in philosophy and the arts. This has fostered an enduring and sincere curiosity about others and given me a breadth of experience being present with other people. That being said, I’m also a human with my own messy life. The goal of therapy is not to be perfect, but instead to grow our understanding of ourselves so we can lead full and rewarding lives.
Let’s Connect
I offer free 30-minute consultations so we can get a feel for each other and determine if we are a good fit. Starting therapy can be intimidating, but I would be honored to help you take the first steps. I believe therapy should be accessible and affordable for everyone, so I offer low cost, sliding-scale rates for both virtual and in-person (Toronto) sessions.
