Hello, my name is Aglaia and I believe that the quality of our relationships lays the foundation for how we experience our life. Our emotions offer us a map to our innermost needs and fears. Befriending, understanding and regulating our emotions can improve how we see and connect with ourselves, changing how we relate to the world around us. The foundation of my clinical work has been rooted in supporting individuals with concerns related to food, body image, perfectionism and self-esteem. My therapeutic practice pulls from evidence-based and integrative approaches such as Emotionally Focused, Narrative and Existential Therapy.
I believe that challenges of the human experience are opportunities to find our truth and purpose. I think that psychotherapy is an incredibly important and rewarding process that can accompany us through all of life’s chapters. I have engaged in psychotherapy myself for many years and see it as an integral part of my personal and professional development.
I am currently a student intern at Counselling & Co. completing my MA in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am also a Group Facilitator at Sheena’s Place, an organization that supports individuals struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating at all stages of recovery.
