Hello! My name is Aïda (she/her) and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
In my practice, I work primarily with people who struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, codependency, and self-esteem. Unfortunately, many of us find ourselves putting others’ needs before our own in an effort to feel loved and safe in our relationships. While these patterns may help us manage in the short term, they often keep us small, preventing us from living authentically or pursuing the life we truly desire. As your therapist, my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself—your values, needs, and wants—so you can engage with life in a way that more closely aligns with who you really are.
In therapy, I offer a compassionate and understanding space to explore the old patterns that keep you stuck. From this awareness, I support you in developing more agency and flexibility around how you relate to others and, most importantly, to yourself. The foundation of my work in based on establishing a safe, trusting relationship where we can truly collaborate so I know how best to support you. Based on your goals and preferences, I draw on relational, somatic, and attachment-based approaches. More information about the techniques I use is available on my website.
My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, socially just, and trauma-informed frameworks. As a woman of colour from woman from an immigrant family, I am keenly aware that our well-being may have important and complex relationships to the social, political, and economic conditions and contexts that we grow up and exist in, and I believe it is important to acknowledge and make space for this in therapy.
I believe a good fit between therapist and client is essential to a productive therapeutic relationship. I offer a 30-minute free consultation before beginning sessions to make sure you feel comfortable working with me.
If what I shared resonates, feel free to reach out! I look forward to meeting you.
