Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

My name is Aïda (eye-ee-da, she/her). I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

Before entering my current program of study, I worked as an advocate and counsellor for survivors of abuse for several years. During this time, I recognized the transformative potential of safe, supportive relationships. I came away from this experience wanting to provide this to others.

My therapeutic approach is informed by relational principles. My practice is firmly rooted in the belief that human beings rely on nurturing connections not only to survive but to grow and thrive. Because of this, I emphasize establishing a genuine and safe therapeutic relationship that may serve as a foundation for our future work together. Based on your goals and preferences, I draw upon somatic and psychodynamic approaches, emotion-focused therapy, as well as mindfulness-based practices.

In my commitment to fostering a safe environment, I aim to provide an inclusive and liberatory therapeutic experience to all clients. My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, socially just, and trauma-informed frameworks. Drawing from my lived experience as a Black woman from an immigrant family, I am keenly aware that our well-being may have important and complex relationships to the social, political, and economic conditions from which we originate, grow up in, and frequently persist within.

I offer a 30-minute free consultation before beginning the process of therapy for us to see if we may be a good fit. I look forward to meeting you.
