I am a practicum student, completing my master’s in counselling at Yorkville University, thankful for this opportunity to hone my craft while being able to offer non-judgment support to those from all walks of life. All part of our being is connected, so approaching wellness requires a holistic approach and acknowledgement of our mind, physical body, spirit, and environment. I hold this mindset and use it to help client’s explore their goals and guide what exercises will be effective for individual clients.
I Utilize primarily client-centered, narrative, and cognitive behvioural approaches to create a safe space for people to explore themselves and their struggles; to help others grow as they develop and understanding of the past to inform them of the present, and help to heal the future. I am certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
I believe in trusting a person’s autonomy, recognizing that they know their situation best but may need help viewing it in different angles. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to share in your journey, and for trusting me with your story.
