Welcome! My name is Alexa Haslecker (she/her), and I’m a counsellor-in-training at Creative Transitions Counselling. Are there any thoughts, feelings, or experiences that have been on your mind, and you haven’t found the right moment or person to talk to about them? Sometimes we hesitate to put feelings into words because we fear what the other person might say or think of us. But, at the same time, talking about challenging life experiences is one of the best ways to process and learn to deal with them. Also, sometimes an outside perspective can help you put things into place and help you make sense of complex feelings and situations. I would be honoured to be one who will provide you with a safe, empowering, and non-judgmental space to figure them out!

By working together, we will define your goals and expectations, identify your patterns, obstacles, and strengths, and assess ways for you to be your true self living a healthier, more balanced and fulfilling life. As someone who has lived in different places and cultures, such as Brazil, USA and Canada, I will focus on understanding the different experiences you have gone through that make who you are today so we can work on who you want to be. Finally, like most things in life, therapy is not easy, but it is a process from which you will continue to benefit long after it concludes.

You will find that I utilize different therapeutic modalities based on your needs, such as evidence-based Cognitive and Behavioural Theory or Solution-Focused Theory, alongside an inclusive, culturally responsive and socially just framework. My academic training is from Yorkville University, where I am currently finishing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. In addition, I possess an MBA in Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations. I’m a (student) member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and will be continuously supervised by the Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, Dr. Shirley Katz. I am currently accepting new clients to start in January 2022 and would love to learn more about you! If you think we would be a good match, please reach out at 647-244-3050, or book a time with me here.
