I am Alina Chirila, MSW, RSW, and Psychotherapist. I have been working in mental health in different capacities and practicing psychotherapy for over 15 years. My clinical work is driven by the desire to meet my clients where they’re at, help them expand their cognitive and emotional understanding of their world, and support their capacity to change and grow.
I work from a relational stance using an attachment and trauma-informed framework, along with other modalities such as Transactional Analysis, Emotion Focused Therapy, EMDR, Focusing, and I have an Advanced Certificate in Adult Attachment.
My work as a therapist is experiential, collaborative, and client-centered and that means finding the best therapeutic approach to help you navigate current challenges and work toward the change you desire to see in your life. I describe my practice as integrative and flexible, combining elements shown to be effective, and tailored to the uniqueness of each person I work with. Creativity often brings vitality to the therapeutic process, so I often use Therapeutic Photography and Therapeutic Writing in my sessions with clients interested in these modalities.
Through years of training and professional development and through personal experience I have developed a therapeutic approach and style that reflects what I most value in the work that I do with my clients – collaboration and a deep sense of connectedness, the most essential elements of the therapeutic relationship.
