I am Allison Liliom, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student intern completing my program at Yorkville University.
I am deeply passionate about the healing process. I am constantly inspired by the resilience of those I work with and hold a genuine belief in the power of individuals’ innate wisdom to guide their healing journey. My approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and respect for each person’s unique path. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel seen and heard, where healing can unfold naturally. I view therapy as a collaborative journey, where we work together to explore your emotions, process challenges, and bring balance back to your life.
My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, ensuring that every individual feels respected, valued, and empowered. I recognize the profound impact that trauma can have on one’s mental and emotional well-being, and I take care to create a safe, gentle space where healing can occur at your own pace. I work with you to develop a strong therapeutic relationship where we can make sense of your experiences and work through them together. I draw from various approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour
Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Attachment Theory.
I primarily work with youth, adults, and couples who feel stuck or overwhelmed by anxiety, panic, low mood, intense emotions, self-criticism, and overthinking. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and I am here to support you in exploring the parts of yourself that are asking for attention.
While I am completing my practicum placement at Thrive Psychotherapy, I am under the guidance and supervision of Ashley Amicarelli, a Registered Psychotherapist with years of professional experience.
I am committed to values of compassion, non-judgment, mindfulness, and emotional empowerment. I aim to help clients develop a deeper trust in themselves and their ability to heal. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward meaningful growth and change, I would be honored to support you. Healing starts exactly where you’re at, and I look forward to meeting you there.
To get started, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss how I can support you. Feel free to reach out to me to connect, and we can begin the process of exploring the next steps toward your healing journey.
