I hold a Social Service Work Diploma and have years of experience providing client centered community based support for those with severe mental illness and addictions. I wanted to take my education further and now am completing the final stage of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology Degree. I can help with depression, anxiety, addiction, family conflict, relationships and life transitions. I value inclusivity, providing culturally competent services, and a positive environment for those who identify as LGBTQ2s+. I work with clients throughout Ontario virtually (via video or telephone), and my practice is supervised by Kennedy McLean, RP.
Since each client is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all ‘solution’. I take an integrative approach to treatment and practice in an inclusive, client-centred way that places an emphasis on client’s strengths and life experiences. My approach is relational and combines elements of therapeutic modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT. It’s important to me that I create a safe, non-judgmental, calm space for clients to share their stories and for us to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship, since the relationship between client and therapist has shown to be one of the greatest predictors of successful therapy outcomes.
