Hello, I’m Amanda (she/her).
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Laurentian University and a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College.
I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.
I began my journey to become a Psychotherapist as I found myself wanting to support others as they work through the harder times that life brings and strive for greater self-awareness, understanding, or self-improvement. I believe that everyone is deserving of support and compassion. I understand that each person is unique and utilize a collaborative approach in the development of goals and treatment planning. When accompanying clients on their therapeutic journey I employ an eclectic approach based on individual needs which can include elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
My areas of focus include: ADHD, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and burn out. I also have over 6 years of experience working in the addiction field. I look forward to the opportunity to accompany you on your therapeutic journey!
