When my clients get to where they need to be, they are often talking about how they are more compassionate with themselves, more able to clearly express their wishes to themselves and to others, more willing to take risks and make mistakes, and more accepting that life is difficult, but also of great value.
How they get there depends on the client. I provide the context for my clients’ own exploration. That said, I use strategies, with emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My clients’ stories often include anxiety, depression, relationship concerns and life transitions. Whatever the starting point, however, their paths are both unique and universal. They are the journey of life. I look forward to accompanying you in empathy, warmth and humour. In addition to private practice, I am a counsellor at Dalhousie University.
