(He/Him) I am a Registered Counselling Therapist candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I am a dedicated, community-minded and family-centered person who enjoys the outdoors and staying physically active. My work experiences as a teacher and a youth employment counsellor have allowed me to support at-risk adolescents and students in developing their learning and coping strategies in relation to their educational and employment goals. My counselling approach is integrative. This approach includes being strength-based, person-centered, motivational, solution-focused and narrative. I also integrate an Internal Family System (IFS) approach where I work with your ‘parts’ so that you are connecting more fully with your true Self. I feel comfortable working with adults, teens and tweens (11+ years old). If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, ADHD or family issues then I will work collaboratively with you. You are the expert of your life. I appreciate the courage it takes for you to share your story and I will give you the necessary time and space to do so. You might be finding that communicating with your adolescent child to be overwhelming or you might be feeling weighed down by life issues at home, work or school that are affecting your health and well-being. I am available and want to listen to all your concerns. I understand that change can be challenging; reaching out to talk with a counsellor is one of the first steps. Taking this small step can go a long way toward reaching your desired goals.
