In all of her roles, Angela uses curiosity, empathy, warmth and compassion in order to promote resilience and growth. Angela completed her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with a special interest in individuals, families and groups at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2010. Since completing her education Angela has consistently engaged in continuing education in order to keep current in her clinical skills. Angela has worked with young adults and adults who have presented with a variety of concerns including employment, social/bullying, family dynamics, depression, anxiety, fertility, and postpartum mental health.
Angela works part time for Catholic Family Services of Peel Dufferin as a Group Facilitator for the PAR and HEAL groups. Angela applies skills from various approaches including: CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) and SFBT (solution focused brief therapy) with her clients in the groups and in her private practice.
Angela works with her clients at the stage they are at in the stages of change and collaborates with her clients to achieve their goals in therapy. Angela is passionate about assisting individuals to gain the skills they need to elicit change and growth. Angela provides support to her clients to help them identify their barriers to their growth. Angela asks questions that help her clients become aware of their strengths and resources they have within themselves to resolve their own problems.
