Sometimes in life, we encounter unexpected challenges. Despite our best efforts to overcome these hurdles, we can feel stuck and seemingly out of options. As a psychotherapist in training, I am here to walk alongside you through these difficult times. Within a safe space, we will work together to navigate these challenges while uncovering your strengths and inner wisdom. Our sessions will be approached with kindness and compassion so that you can genuinely feel heard and validated.
Focus areas: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, and mental health for BIPOC and second-generation immigrants. My therapeutic approach primarily incorporates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Growing up as a South Asian Canadian woman, I noticed a lack of open dialogue surrounding mental health, often driven by fear of judgment and a sense of shame. This personal experience inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Counselling Psychology & Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto, following an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Creating stigma-free spaces where individuals feel safe to unpack and explore their lived experiences is my top priority.
I understand that reaching out for help can be daunting, especially when you are feeling vulnerable. Just remember, I am here to support you every step of the way. You have the autonomy to choose what you wish to share and to set a comfortable pace for our work together.
