I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be involved in a helping profession and specifically was drawn towards mental health. I worked as a Life Coach for a decade and in 2016 obtained my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from India.
I have worked in both the medical community and private practice settings assisting diverse individuals, couples and families with life transition and challenges they have faced.
From a strengths-based perspective, I work to provide clients with tools, assist them in creating deeper connections with themselves, encourage reflection and provide support in their search for meaning and change. I strive to bring a warm, holistic and sincere presence to my work.
I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities and bring in a holistic approach to ensure a good fit; however, I often lean towards mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with individuals and Emotional Focused Therapy for working with couples. Much of my work with couples and individuals has centred around anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, trauma, postpartum support, body image challenges, co-dependency, difficulties in relationships and more.
My professional and educational background has also provided me with comfort around sex and sexuality that not all helping professionals have. I sincerely feel that when people are able to challenge ideas, stereotypes and expectations around sex, gender and identity they can move into a healthier space of self-acceptance and enjoy and connect with their sexual self. I am sex-positive, body positive, anti-oppressive, poly informed and Queer/Trans allied.
Ultimately I am a believer in connection and feel passionate about what I do. I promise to show up and stay present.
