About…

My approach to therapy is client-centred, holistic, and collaborative. I believe that each person is the expert in their own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, develop greater self-understanding, and move toward the life you want to create.

In our first session, we may explore questions such as: Have you been to therapy before? What did you like or dislike about previous experiences? What are you hoping to get out of therapy? What coping strategies have worked for you in the past? Most importantly, I want to understand you as a unique individual and ensure that our work together is tailored to your needs, values, and goals.

I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be your authentic self. I hope to make every client feel deeply seen, heard, and understood, and I am happy to hold space for “the good, the bad, and the ugly.” There is no such thing as being embarrassing or “too much” in the therapy room. Throughout our work together, I welcome your feedback and will regularly check in about what is and isn’t working so that therapy remains a collaborative process.

My approach is holistic, meaning we can explore the different aspects of your life rather than focusing solely on a symptom or diagnosis. Your culture, beliefs, values, relationships, experiences, and personal goals will remain at the forefront of our work. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with my work being trauma-informed, grounded in psychodynamic theory, and influenced by mindfulness. To schedule a free 50min consultation email me at KTpsychotherapy@protonmail.com with my name and consultation in the subject line.
