Hello! I’m Aspen (she/her), a student therapist at Aspen Psychology Group and Master of Counselling student. I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating a variety of issues including (but not limited to!) cultural identity, life transitions, grief/loss, and burnout. My experiences in hospital patient experience have shown me how much of a difference a compassionate, non-judgmental approach can make when working with clients facing a variety of challenges. I bring this into every session, aiming to create genuine connections that empower meaningful change. As a second-generation Chinese-Canadian, I have experienced how complex it can be to figure out who you are in a space you may not always feel seen. I utilize an intersectional approach to therapy, recognizing the reciprocal impact between mental health and other aspects of life. In sessions I want to ensure you feel heard and understood as we work together to understand the systems and environments that you exist in, and how they impact you. In our work together, sessions will be tailored to your experiences, perspectives, and goals. I believe in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive space that acknowledges the courage and strength it takes to seek support. With a collaborative approach, we can work towards the change that is possible when you can be their authentic self and build on your inherent strengths. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in exploring how we can work together – I offer free 15-minute consultations and look forward to meeting you!
