I work with adults and postsecondary students who have experienced relational trauma, including abuse, neglect, and betrayal, whether during childhood or in adulthood. These experiences can significantly affect our mental health and the functioning of our nervous system, altering how we perceive connections with others. Relationships with others can seem threatening or difficult, leading to feelings of loneliness, low self-esteem, difficulty trusting others, disconnection, and a sense of not belonging, all stemming from a shift in perception due to the past.
Our sessions will prioritize fostering a sense of safety within our therapeutic relationship. We will practice self-compassion and engage in deep inner work designed to help you understand safety and self-regulation from within. This understanding will transform how you interact with and relate to the world.
Over time, we will work on overcoming negative past experiences, empowering you to engage with the world as you’ve always wanted, without feeling constantly on guard.
My areas of expertise are Trauma/ Complex- Trauma and PTSD; Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety and Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar Disorder), Childhood neglect, and abuse, self- discovery after trauma, inner-child work, self- esteem, career changes and relational/ interpersonal concerns.
