Life has a way of throwing us curveballs that can be overwhelming. I am a mom to two young adults and have faced many life transitions and difficult challenges such as relationship separation, career changes, and caregiving for family members facing mental and physical health concerns. I have faced terribly stressful moments when I wasn’t sure I was going to survive. However, these challenges became opportunities for personal growth. I learned about my personal coping skills and the strengths I didn’t know I had. These transitions provided me an opportunity to learn who I really am, as opposed to who I think I should be.
I have been working as an employment counsellor for four years with newcomers building a life in Canada, students transitioning to the world of work and mature workers trying to regain their self-confidence and reinvent their careers. I am also happy to work with those who identify as polyamorous/non monogamous. I became a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) so I could help people in a more in-depth way supporting their mental well-being as they navigate life’s challenges. I believe that everyone has the ability to handle difficult situations but sometimes we are so overwhelmed we forget to draw on our own strengths. While life can sometimes bring us down, we all have it in us not only to survive but to flourish as a result of these obstacles. Each of our sessions will be adapted with your personal needs in mind. We will explore new ways to approach life changes and losses like divorce, grief, job loss, past trauma, empty nest or any difficult life transition you are currently facing. Together we will discover ways to address your fears and discomfort with new beginnings by identifying your strengths, values, and meaning. Therapy can help you cope and build the best future possible.
