Hi, I’m Benoit, a Master’s student in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto, with experience assisting diverse populations with their mental health through the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto.
It can be hard to find someone with the time or the dedication to understand with compassion, and without judgement, what we’re going through. At times this might be just what we need to heal a challenging past, find personal growth, and learn how to cope more effectively with difficult situations.
That’s what I’m here for. If you are experiencing difficulties with anxiety or depression, or if you are looking to bring healthier habits into your life, my training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy can help with these challenges. If you’d like to work through a specific issue, or gain more control over your mood, I also offer a somatic-based approach called Focusing. This can help you gain peaceful deidentification from challenging emotions, and offer insight into what they are trying to communicate.
With a Master’s degree in Philosophy, having studied multiple world religions, and having grown up in highly multicultural communities in Toronto, I understand how important it is to be receptive to your unique perspective. My goal is to make you feel properly heard and understood, to help you find solutions that resonate most with you.
If you think you could benefit from my approach, I’d be happy to discuss the possibility of working together. You can send me an email at b.urvari@mail.utoronto.ca
