About…

Brandon Schiafone (he/him) works with individuals and couples from a place of empathy, insight, and collaboration, helping clients better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives. In his work with couples, he draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy to help partners identify and shift maladaptive cycles that leave one or both people feeling unheard, unappreciated, or disconnected. He supports couples in understanding not only what these patterns are, but why they trigger such intense emotional and behavioural responses, guiding them toward healthier communication, renewed intimacy, and greater relationship satisfaction. Brandon also has extensive experience helping couples heal after infidelity, supporting them in rebuilding trust and reshaping their relational dynamic.

Brandon brings a compassionate, client-led approach to trauma work, recognizing that no two people experience trauma in the same way. He allows clients to guide the exploration of how trauma shows up in their lives, collaborating with them to process difficult emotions, develop coping strategies, and take meaningful steps toward healing and stability. Alongside trauma, he frequently supports clients struggling with self-esteem, self-doubt, and identity concerns, recognizing that a lack of self-understanding often lies at the root of emotional distress. Through an open, curious, and nonjudgmental approach, he helps clients of all ages explore their values, beliefs, and sense of self, empowering them to make changes aligned with their authentic feelings and life goals.

As a completely blind therapist, Brandon brings lived experience to his disability advocacy work. Having spent his life advocating for himself, he is deeply committed to helping others recognize their strengths, articulate their needs, and pursue meaningful change. He works from a strengths-based, client-centered model with adolescents, young adults, and adults, and has supported individuals experiencing blindness, hearing loss, ADHD, autism, depression, mood regulation challenges, and gender dysmorphia through his work with employment and social service agencies across the GTA.

Brandon also supports clients facing behavioural addictions, including compulsive use of pornography, gaming, gambling, internet, phones, and other habitual behaviours that can negatively impact health, relationships, education, and work. He approaches these challenges with compassion and curiosity, helping clients understand the unmet needs these behaviours may be serving and collaborating with them to develop realistic, personalized treatment plans. In addition, Brandon brings his skills beyond the therapy room through motivational speaking, helping individuals clarify their personal stories, find their authentic voice, and communicate their experiences with insight and intention, whether on a stage or in their everyday life.
