I absolutely love the work I do with clients! I work with individuals of all genders and sexualities to find relief from deeply held distress and pain. At the heart of my therapeutic philosophy is the fundamental belief that healing happens within relationships, not within aloneness, and the therapeutic relationship is an important part of change in therapy. Yes, insight and skills are important, but it is warmth, care, and acceptance that first create the stable foundation needed for change.
I work primarily with clients who are struggling with attachment traumas and eating disorders. Often this work ends up focusing on the relationship the client has with themselves and the difficult emotions of trust, shame, anger, and grief that can feel overwhelming to process. We make space for the part of the client that is keeping them stuck, appreciating and working with this part instead of challenging it.
Even though it can be very heavy at times, I really appreciate being able to meet clients in a space of shared humanity, with all of the pain, mess, hope, and healing that encompasses. I bring my full authentic self to every session and hope that my clients will feel safe enough do the same.
