About Carlie

Hello! My name is Carlie and I’m excited you have found my page!

I live in Mississauga with my wife. I grew up in Mississauga but I have spent the past 10 years living and working in Europe as a classical musician. I have lived in Switzerland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia. I have a bachelor’s of music from the University of Toronto as well as a Masters of Arts from the Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland.

I have experienced many different people and ways of life in my travels as a musician.

I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and running. I also love cooking and reading fantasy novels.

About Carlie As a Therapist

“Listening to understand instead of listening to respond, is the basis of forming a trusting, mutually respectful relationship in which clients feel safe and secure enough to discuss difficult issues.”

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I enjoy working with individuals as well as supporting their relationships. I have a non-judgmental, collaborative approach as a therapist. I strive to make everyone feel comfortable to present their authentic self in the sessions.

As a queer woman, I love working with people and relationships who identify with the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I provide a safe space for persons of all identities as well as relationships in all forms.

My strive is to help individuals and relationships navigate change, to supporting people understand their thoughts and feelings, to provide tools to heal and help develop life-long coping strategies.

I employ exceptional cross-cultural communication skills, building rapport with those who embody different values and experiences, and leveraging awareness that cultural differences between me and others exist, that our differences are valuable, and that the best ideas can come from anyone, and diverse points of view inspire powerful change.

I look forward to working with you and discovering how I can best support you.
