About…

You may be struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, exhaustion, self-doubt, people-pleasing, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, trust issues, low self-worth, chronic stress, numbness, or a persistent sense of feeling disconnected or that something isn’t quite right. You may have spent years trying to understand these challenges, addressing them one at a time, yet still feel stuck.

What many people don’t realize is that these struggles are often connected. Rather than separate problems, they can be the effects of underlying psychological injuries that develop through overwhelming or harmful life experiences, including childhood adversity (ACEs), victimization, and social or systemic stressors.

These experiences vary in intensity, duration, frequency, and timing. Some stem from a single overwhelming event, while others develop through repeated exposure to stress, adversity, abuse, or environments where needs were not consistently met.

Just as physical injuries vary in severity and complexity, psychological injuries do as well. They can shape how we think, feel, relate, and cope long after the original experiences have passed, often contributing to nervous system dysregulation and difficulties with self-worth, relationships, boundaries, emotional regulation, trust, and identity.

Recovery depends not only on what happened, but also on factors such as age, support systems, personal vulnerabilities, available resources, and duration of exposure to harm or overwhelm.

Many of the patterns that cause difficulties today began as ways of surviving, coping, adapting, or protecting ourselves.

I specialize in helping adults recover from psychological injuries including toxic stress, burnout, empathic distress, trauma exposure response, trauma, and complex trauma. Together we work to understand these impacts with compassion while building the capacity to move beyond survival toward meaningful healing and lasting change.
