I began my career working in communications for non-profits and health care organizations, where I had the privilege of witnessing the strength of the human spirit. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a mid-life career shift so that I could spend more of my time working directly with people as they create lives worth living.
I’ve seen first-hand how important counselling and therapy can be in helping people to cope with difficult circumstances, ultimately enabling them to return to a productive and satisfying life.  As a mom of two young daughters and two teenaged step-kids, I’m no stranger to the joys and  challenges of blended families, parenting, relationships and life transitions. My own life experiences have shaped who I am today and have given me empathy and insight that I believe help me  to help others.

I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I work with clients throughout Ontario virtually (via video or telephone), and my practice is supervised by Kennedy McLean, RP.
Since each client is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all ‘solution’. I take an integrative approach to treatment and practice in an inclusive, client-centred way that places an emphasis on client’s strengths and life experiences. My approach is relational and  combines elements of psychotherapeutic modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT. It’s important to me that I create a safe, non-judgmental, calm space for clients to share their stories and for us to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship, since the relationship between client and therapist has shown to be one of the greatest predictors of successful therapy outcomes.
If you are interested in working together, you can book a free 15- minute consultation through Kennedy McLean Counselling & Psychotherapy Services: I look forward to speaking with you.
