About…

Hi,

I’m Connor (they/them). I’m a student therapist getting their Master’s in counselling psychology through Yorkville University. I practice from an eclectic orientation, meaning I draw upon multiple different theories, as I find knowledge can be combined across theories. However, if I were forced to choose, I would say that I gravitate towards existentialist thinkers like Irvin Yalom and Adlerian therapy.

These preferred orientations mean I approach therapy from a lens of goals and meaning. I’m interested in why you experience life in your own unique way and how we can make that experience more enriching. Therapy is spontaneous, which makes it difficult to describe exactly what we’ll do in session together. Sometimes it’ll be laughing together, other times crying. Mostly, we’ll talk. You’ll help guide me through your inner world and we’ll look at how it has grown and is still growing.

I’ve been described as warm and open by friends and previous clients, and I highly pride myself on my ability to be a fellow human with you. I think therapy works best when we’re both people in the therapeutic space, with all our flaws and idiosyncrasies. I can’t guarantee that I’ll have the perfect words to “fix” your problem, but I will always be here to listen, learn, and grow alongside you.

I specialize in areas concerning grief, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, stress, relational problems, and life transitions.

I am 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly and consider myself fairly knowledgeable about the queer community. I am also BIPOC friendly, though I don’t have specific lived experience. I am excited to continue learning about everyone’s unique story and voice.
