I believe that you and your needs are unique and make an effort to provide a tailored and collaborative approach to our work together. I can help you work through concerns, process emotions, and navigate your journey to awareness, understanding, acceptance and healing.
I focus on developing a safe, trusting and secure relationship by working in a supportive, non-judgmental, and insightful manner. I believe that it is important to consider all of the components of your life, culture, and spirituality to discover your strengths and enhance resilience. I take an integrative, holistic, trauma-informed approach and incorporate person-centered, cognitive behavioural, narrative, solution-focused and somatic perspectives and techniques. I have experienced the healing and transformational impacts of counselling and am excited to share them with you. I understand that starting the counselling process can be intimidating if you have never done this before, and promise to answer your questions and go at your pace.
I am completing the practicum portion of my Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Upon graduation, I plan to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Concurrent with my education, I have volunteered at a local crisis line, assisting with addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, self-harm, social isolation, and suicide. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queen’s University. I hope to use my experience and education to connect with you.
