Delano’s service in the Canadian Armed Forces as an officer for about ten years gives him a unique approach to helping individuals, families and couples to navigate their path to healing. Over my time in service, I have supported many troops in navigating their way through individual and group counselling. Through this role, I have become more aware of the importance of client-centred support. I offer a client-focused approach where I work with clients to find the best path for them and support them on their journey to healing. Delano brings a non-judgemental approach to counselling and will work with you to draw upon your inner strengths to promote your goals in counselling. Delano holds a Bachelor of Science, Life Science degree, Post-Graduate Research Analyst certificate and has a Master of Arts Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. Some the therapeutic modalities used to support clients include, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused, trauma focused, strength focused, structural family therapy and so on. I enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, biking, and jogging for fun. In addition, Delano has more recently discovered new hobbies such as photography of wildlife, mindfulness hikes along the trail in his community.
