I believe that psychotherapy offers an opportunity to become more curious about ourselves, to understand the undercurrents that shape how we think, feel, and relate to others, and to develop greater freedom in how we respond to our lives. I work with adults from a psychodynamic perspective. I begin our work with a selective history taking, creating a foundation for understanding the experiences that have formed you. As therapy unfolds, the material of the past often becomes interwoven with the present, helping us to recognize patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships that may not have been fully visible before.
Together, we may explore the nuances and contradictions within your experience, including internal conflicts and the different motivations that influence how you move through the world. At times, I draw attention to the relationship that develops between us. This can offer a meaningful way of understanding dynamics in your relationships with others.
I value creativity and play in therapy. I may invite attention to internal imagery, associations, and unexpected connections, allowing the work to unfold in ways that are not always entirely intellectual or linear.
