Hi, I’m Ekta, a student therapist completing my practicum at Healthy Minds Psychotherapy while pursuing my Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. I am supervised by Katharine De Santos and hold a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from York University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
My clinical experience includes crisis support, community mental health, trauma recovery, and private practice settings. I have supported adults and older adults experiencing emotional distress through telephone based wellness services, contributed to psychoeducational groups focused on trauma recovery, and worked on crisis lines supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
I see therapy as a collaborative process where you can better understand yourself, work through difficult experiences, and develop practical tools to move forward. I aim to create a warm and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring your concerns, building on your strengths, and working toward meaningful goals.
As a South Asian immigrant, I also understand that culture, family expectations, and identity can shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships. I strive to offer a culturally responsive and non judgmental space where you feel respected, understood, and supported throughout your therapeutic journey.
