Emily Duffin, MSW, RSW (she/her)
Sometimes you just need to talk with someone who gets it. I am a strong communicator who is professional and calm under pressure and I provide empathetic, welcoming, evidence-based engagement and support for clients seeking online therapy in Toronto. I have worked across adult healthcare and mental health settings with a focus on psychotherapy. I approach my work with clients in a way that is client-centred, highly ethical, harm reduction oriented and attachment/trauma-informed. I am continually seeking to be intersectional, feminist, anti-oppressive and anti-racist in my practice, and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
I often work with individuals who have anxiety, mood concerns, chronic pain or illness, personality disorders, emotional regulation difficulties (e.g. anger or shame/guilt), trauma and cptsd, relationship issues; substance use and/or behavioural concerns. I work closely with LGBTQ+ folks (frequently non-binary and trans folks) and people living with HIV.
My role will be to witness, reflect and help bring greater awareness to aspects of your inner and outer experience that may be in need of attention or healing. I may bring evidence-based therapeutic techniques into our work, tailored to both your individual style and needs. Together, we will collaboratively bring to life the changes most important to you.
