Florine graduated in 2015 with a degree in Child and Youth Care followed by completing a Master’s degree abroad in Social Work. Throughout her nine years of education, she gained a wide range of knowledge and skills in different capacities with different age groups. She has been a Registered Social Worker since 2017 and has had the opportunity to gain different experiences from working throughout youth treatment centers, hospital mental health units, counselling agencies, and foster care.
Florine’s passion has always been working with children, adolescents and families to help navigate difficult situations and support during areas of growth and change. She has a listening posture to create safe environments for others to share their concerns, and encourages others through strength-based approaches.
Florine works through a Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) lens and is trained with case management and advocacy to recognize individual and family situations through a systemic perspective. She is trained in crisis interventions, family mediation, and assisting to navigate systems and offering community resources.
