I know how hard it is to share your struggles and trust a new person—I’ve been a client of therapy myself for many years. It’s not easy work! That’s why I’m committed to building trust and staying ever-curious about who you are and how you’re experiencing the process. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling cared for, understood, accepted, and connected with.
I’m a Student Therapist at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. In relational therapy, we explore how your relational world shapes the way you feel and make sense of your experiences. Many kinds of suffering stem from difficulties in relationships, past and present. When we haven’t felt understood and connected with in the ways we need, we can feel as if we are lost, empty, overwhelmed, stuck, or out-of-control. Symptoms often ease as we experience greater safety, intimacy, love, meaning, and self-acceptance. Together, we’ll explore the roots of your troubles and identify pathways to a more fulfilling inner and outer life. I’m anti-oppressive, client-led, and trauma-informed, holding curiosity for how systems, culture, and identity impact your life, relationships, and our work together. But in all of this exploration, we only go as wide and as deep as you want to—at your pace. You’re in the driver’s seat, but I’m right there with you!
We spend so much of our lives in survival mode. To admit our struggles, needs, and desires for change is a courageous risk—and an opening! To me, therapy’s an opportunity to unearth and accept parts of yourself and your experiences you may have had to set aside before. It’s a chance to grow your capacities to feel, reflect, and connect in a supportive space. I feel grateful for every chance to be a part of someone’s journey!
