Hi, my name is Gaby, and I truly believe therapy is an opportunity to help you understand yourself better. My approach is simple: develop a genuine connection with my clients and create an inclusive and safe space to allow them to freely explore their thoughts and emotions.
Together, we can create a personalized treatment plan to fit your goals and needs to help you become your best self.
My life journey took me down some challenging paths and contributed to my personal growth, making me a compassionate, empathic and non-judgemental psychotherapist. I believe these hardships can help bring hope to others and make us connect at a deeper level.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lusiada University in Portugal and earned my post-graduate in Autism and Behavioural Science (Honours) at Mohawk College. I have completed my training in Behavioural Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples and families, and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Level 1.
I support individuals (7+) from various cultural backgrounds who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss. I also support couples struggling with communication, conflicts, affairs and dissatisfaction.
I have over 5 years of experience working with children, teens and young adults living with autism and other exceptionalities. I use a behavioural approach to identify their strengths and learning style to improve behaviours and teach them skills to overcome these challenges independently. In addition, I offer parental training in these evidence-based techniques to help parents thrive and connect with their children at different levels. In our sessions, you can improve family connections, support parents and siblings in navigating challenges, and learn skills to better support your child’s development.
