Getrude Adiele has been in the helping profession since 2014. She has worked with individuals, families and communities in Nigeria and Canada. Getrude’s great passion is providing space and healing to people who have been through traumatic/challenging experiences.
Getrude received her Master’s in Clinical Social work degree from the University of British Columbia.
Getrude amassed clinical experience in child and family agencies, residential centers, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. She is committed to providing Individual, family and group Counselling/Therapy to individuals from diverse Backgrounds.
Getrude has specialized training and experience in Trauma, abuse, and addiction, working with clients through harm reduction and sobriety. She has experience working with indigenous families and communities, facilitating family reunification, and providing a safe environment to process and understand how the different dynamics in the client’s family contribute to the present situation.
Getrude’s approach to treatment necessitates therapeutic alliance, which encourages the mutual development of therapy goals. She demonstrates a non-judgemental attitude and offers an environment of compassion, empathy and support while working with individuals to maneuver life stressors and attain set goals.
