I am currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and am completing a practicum placement at ReNu Counselling & Psychotherapy under the supervision of Renee Raymond and Wendy Kirk.
I graduated from Queen’s University having completed a Bachelor of Honours in Science pursuing a Biology-Psychology Specialization. My passion for neuroscience and brain and behaviour evolved to include human psychology and counselling. This new interest was affirmed after I spent some time volunteering as a Crisis Line Responder at the Toronto Distress Centre, where I was trained in Suicide Prevention and practiced deescalation and emotional supporting.
My goal as a psychotherapist is to be an active support and implement a variety of techniques and interventions that help empower you to address your present and any future concerns. Some of the techniques and therapeutic approaches I hope to implement include, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques. With these services, I aim to address challenges related to mood disorders, grief and trauma, couples and family issues, immigrant and refugee concerns, and academic-related stress to name a few.
I am a strong believer in a client-centred and judgment-free approach, and hope that our time together will foster an environment of trust, collaboration and recovery.
