Are you not feeling seen and understood? Feeling stuck between multiple cultures and norms? Unhealed trauma and unprocessed past events can make you feel stuck. Trauma can be big or small, including things that happened in your small circles or systemic trauma such as discrimination. Relationship-based anxiety and trauma are my specializations. Issues I often help with include:
- Anxious/avoidant attachment issues with partners and family
- Conflicts with people around them
- Codependent relationships
- Low self-esteem, people-pleasing, not being able to speak up
- Childhood trauma, early relationship trauma
- Immigration and acculturation issues, cultural identities
I will help you understand why you feel, think, and behave the way you do to break the pattern. I will also help you learn new effective skills to make changes in your life. In my therapy, I combine talk therapy and somatic/body-based therapy to meet your unique needs, to help tackle these obstacles from both angles. I am trained in Attachment-based Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS/partswork, Somatic Embodiment and Regulation, Gottman Methods, and DBT.
I am a woman (she/her), Queer-identifying, and a first-generation immigrant. I am also a UX Researcher and Designer turned Psychotherapist and have helped improve governments’ and organizations’ services for citizens and have extensive experience working with underserved populations, such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrants, and people with disabilities. Therapy is available in English and Japanese. If you are looking for a sliding scale, please email me before booking a consultation to see availability. Sliding scale spots are provided for 3 months at a time and get re-evaluated.
