Life can be challenging, and we can’t always control what comes our way. Luckily, with support, we can learn different ways to navigate these situations. I am committed to supporting clients to improve their mental health by ensuring they feel heard and respected.
I am a Master of Counselling student at Athabasca University. Using a health promotion lens I’ve spent the last 20 years helping to create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces. Through this work and my life experiences, I’ve learned a few things:
- Life can be filled with lots of ups and downs.
- We often need support when we are struggling and counselling can help.
- We all have mental health and sometimes need support to rebuild our mental well-being.
- The combination of movement, fresh air, and trusted people can assist with making us feel better.
- People are strong and resilient.
The support I offer:
- In my practice, I believe in a client-centered approach where I work with clients to tailor treatments to meet their needs.
- I support people struggling with anxiety, body image, conflict, depression, fertility struggles, grief, loss, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, stress, and much more.
- I incorporate modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
- I work primarily with adults and adolescents and am dedicated to creating a safe space where you can bring your authentic self.
- My practice is supervised by Melody Evans with Can’t We Just Get Along Counselling Inc.
- I see clients both in-person and virtually.
- I am offering a sliding scale, and affordable rates to make counselling more accessible.
