We all want a better life and we are all doing the best we can with what we have. But sometimes we can get stuck in routines, unsure of how to make the change we so desperately want to see in our lives. Sometimes even asking ourselves “what do I want?” can be anxiety provoking and make us feel like we’re stuck when we can’t answer it. Times like this we can even find ourselves appealing to others’ needs and “living for others” all the while feeling like something is missing. Everything we do has some benefit to us, otherwise we wouldn’t do it. Getting to the heart of this underlying need can be the empowering change we need.
I approach each session with the belief that you are the expert of your own life. There are no judgements or assumptions made during our time. My focus is on collaborating with you to create a space where your voice, your wants, and your unique perspective can not only be heard, but supported and advocated for.
You are not the problem -the problem is the problem. You need not limit yourself or your life to it. A non-pathologizing, feminist, and social justice approach is important to getting to the heart of what’s important to you and the life you want to live, to emphasizing your personal agency, and to working against identifying with the problems you face.
