Life can be overwhelming, unfair and full of the unexpected. As we seek change in our own behaviour and circumstances, we are often met with unexpected pain, anxiety, and anger that can be difficult to manage. Psychotherapy is a process in which we address obstacles in life and set goals to healing, understanding and moving forward. There is not a challenge in life, big or small, that doesn’t deserve the thoughtful reflection of therapy.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Toronto, and work with a supervisor. I have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto and am currently training in the Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate Program in Traumatic Stress Studies. I spent my practicum at CAMH using DBT, CBT and psycho-education, and previous to that, for ten years, I was a Drama Therapist running groups to focus on developing interpersonal development. I have trained in CBT, ACT, IFS & EFT.
My experience is varied, and my style is integrative. I specialise in anxiety, depression, anger, stress management, life changes, self-esteem, relationship dilemmas, coping skills, emotion regulation and trauma. I am open to whatever path you would like to take on your journey to healing and growth. I use humour, and encourage joy as we explore your past, present and future. I reject pathologizing people and see each person as an individual with their own needs and style of communicating and emoting. I work from an inclusive, feminist, anti-racist and anti-oppressive perspective. I look forward to meeting you!
