About…

Hi all! I am Julia (She/Her), a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). As an energetic, compassionate, and dedicated social worker, I provide equitable and inclusive support to those facing complex issues that stem from the unique interplay of dimensions within an individual’s lives. I approach my clients empathetically, emphasizing one’s strength, guiding them towards their valued goals and aiming for sustainable positive change within their lives. I create a safe space and assess clients’ readiness for change in order to guide the next steps in their healing journey.

I have worked with children, youth, and adults experiencing mental health issues (such as anxiety, emotion dysregulation, stress, depression, and addiction), existential crisis, and others. My work is grounded in anti-oppressive, strengths-based, trauma-informed care. The approaches I use for clients are flexible. I guide recommendations through collaboration, utilizing my clinical judgment and referring to evidence-based practices that can be tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients. As a psychotherapist, I aim to establish a strong therapeutic relationship where clients’ autonomy is promoted, coping skills are developed, and origins are understood in relation to contemporary experiences. Within individual therapy, there will be a focus on understanding a client through a holistic view, ensuring all dimensions (biological, social, psychological, cultural and spiritual) are considered to collaborate with clients in order to create individualized plans that meet their needs.

My work focuses on supporting children, youths and adults experiencing challenges with coping and comprehending emotional and behavioural patterns. I believe it is beneficial to understand the connections of today’s actions to one’s history of trauma, childhood experiences and other intersecting dimensions. I would be happy to support you. Please, feel free to book a free 20-minute consultation. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
