About…

Good Call Counselling Services may be right for you if:

  • You are an adult/young adult individual who resides within the province of Ontario
  • You know what needs to change in your life and you genuinely want to transform the status-quo
  • You’re curious about how to actually make the changes you have in mind happen
  • You’re prepared to consistently dedicate time, effort, and resources to making changes – both inside and outside of sessions
  • You know some of your strengths, skills, and knowledge that already support your overall well-being
  • You are willing to work together with your therapist to recognize and respond to emotions, set appropriate boundaries, resolve conflict, and evaluate wellness goals
  • You are interested in starting medium- to long-term talk therapy services (minimum monthly sessions for a duration of 3-6 months or longer)

I am honoured to live and work in my home community in Omamawenini Anishinaabe-aki – the unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe First Nation. I identify as a fat, queer femme and I am proud to be in ongoing, daily evolving co-conspiratorship with 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and disability communities. I aim to mobilize my traditional teachings, my roles and responsibilities, and my social work experience to inspire individuals to achieve social and environmental justice.

As a registered social worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers, and in compliance with both the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Social Work and Social Service Work Act, 1998, I provide affordable, accessible, culturally-relevant psychotherapy and counselling services to adult individuals over the age of 16 years.

I engage from an anti-oppressive, structural approach to social work which prioritizes respect for individual agency and autonomy, client-centered advocacy, community engagement, reflexive thinking, trauma-informed care, and recognizing the social determinants of mental health.  Over the course of my career in community mental health to date, I have had the privilege of working extensively in direct practice with families of diverse lived experiences, which has allowed me to develop a complex understanding of the intersections and impacts of social locations on the overall thriving of individuals within their communities.  My continuing professional development is focused on supplanting my knowledge of social systems with experience in radical and critical-intersectional-feminist therapy approaches as well as evidence-based modalities; I have training and hold certificates in narrative therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), and trigger neutralization.
