My focus during therapy is to create a safe space in which my clients and myself can work together to build, and then walk together, their own unique path towards healing. I believe that within every human being there exists the capacity and tools needed to accomplish this task. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing challenges with your relationships, or are just needing to make changes in your life but are unsure how to do that, I work to help you find the answers you are seeking and support you in realizing your goals.
I have been on a life-long journey to explore all aspects of the human being. My training has included both a strenuous academic path, including a master degree in Counselling Psychology as well as a more personal journey to explore the deeper spiritual aspects of the human being. Combining these two aspects of my training has helped me to integrate both the more mainstream techniques and understanding of human behaviour, with the reverence and commitment to the deeper meaning of what it means to be a human being on a journey of greater self-discovery, self-awareness and healing.
I embrace the vision of the human being as having a core Self. I believe our Self is the part of all of us that is capable of bringing about the healing that we long for in our lives. I help my clients to gain access to their Self, which can be challenging, due to the wounds and distorted beliefs that we all accumulate during our lives. These may manifest as negative feelings such as anger, anxiety, and depression, limiting thoughts or even as discomfort in our physical body; these are all parts of ourselves that have taken on these roles because of past traumas or challenges. Once we have freed the Self, then I help clients to begin to release and heal all the various parts of themselves, which allows these parts to share the gifts that they bring and create a sense of peace and harmony to the inner system.
