For over 25 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. My journey to becoming a therapist is a natural evolution of my life’s work as a Parent Educator, where I learned firsthand the power of a compassionate presence and a listening ear. I bring this wealth of real-world experience and a deep, personal understanding of the struggles many of us face into the therapy room.
I have a particular passion for supporting people navigating the unique pressures of mid-life. I know the immense stress that comes from juggling multiple roles as a professional, partner, parent, and caregiver. Having experienced my own journey with burnout, I offer both professional expertise and genuine, lived-in empathy. I help clients find clarity, renewed purpose, and a sense of calm during significant life transitions.
Receiving a major health diagnosis can feel like the world has been pulled out from under you. As a cancer survivor, I know this territory intimately. I understand the fear, uncertainty, and the challenge of navigating a complex medical system while trying to hold onto your sense of self. My approach is not just about coping, but about helping you build resilience and find ways to live a meaningful, value-driven life, no matter what the future holds.
Feeling disconnected in your relationships can be painful. I draw on my deep understanding of attachment theory and frameworks like the Circle of Security to help you explore the patterns that may be holding you back from secure connections. A key part of our work is learning how to repair inevitable ruptures, turning moments of conflict into opportunities for deeper trust and intimacy.
Outside of the office, I find joy and rejuvenation in the simple things. You can often find me walking my rescue dog, Wesley, cycling the trails around Guelph, or paddle boarding on Guelph Lake. I love to travel and cherish time spent with my husband and two adult sons.
