About…

*currently wait-list only*

I’m a Psychotherapy Student and Registered Nurse interested in supporting you to find and make the changes you want in your life. Some common concerns I may work with relate to mood, anxiety, addictions, life-transitions (parenting, career changes, aging), and body-image. Some people aren’t exactly sure what their concerns are and want help figuring them out: I’m here for that too. I draw from a mix of therapeutic theories and techniques (e.g. cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment, person-centered, psychodynamic), to help you get curious about yourself and find an approach that works best for you. This is why I aim to really get to know you. I will meet you without judgment (really!), and rather with openness, interest, and respect for the complex person you already are. I aim to build connection, trust, and safety between us to support challenging, fulfilling, self-work. I also understand that people process things differently, and welcome bringing movement, sound, aroma, and/or creative expression to sessions. I believe that everyone deserves to pursue a satisfying life. I believe that therapy should be accessible and inclusive, and should meet you where you are at. I believe that social justice, harm-reduction, and trauma-informed approaches are absolutely foundational to good mental healthcare. —————————– Kate (she/her) is a Psychotherapy Student and Registered Nurse with a background in mental health crisis and acute addictions care. She anticipates her Master of Education in Counseling and Psychotherapy from OISE/University of Toronto in mid-2024, holds a Bachelor of a Science in Nursing from University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University. She has also volunteered many hours with the Toronto Distress Centre and McGill’s Sexual Assault Centre crisis lines.
