I’m Kat! I’m a down-to-Earth student therapist with a person-centered and holistic approach. I am very collaborative and value your input and lived experience. I believe it is just as important that we discover and build your strengths as it is to work on your challenges. I love helping clients work through anxiety, improve self-esteem, tolerate stress, process big emotions and more.
I also have a passion for working with ADHD and helping people work with their brains and not against them! One of the pivotal moments in my own life was learning that I was an ADHDer during my first year of university. I would love to support you if you need to process a recent diagnosis or need help finding ADHD strategies that work for you! I am also comfortable working with autistic clients and am willing to accommodate neurodivergent needs. For example, some clients find it helpful to doodle during sessions to help focus or to take away the pressure of meeting constant eye contact.
I am also comfortable and enjoy working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients. I support all expressions of love and gender.
I am dedicated to a lifelong journey of building a practice that is anti-oppressive and anti-racist.
I know it can be nerve-wracking to get the therapy process started and that not everyone has had a great experience with therapy before. Above all else, I want you to feel that I provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to express yourself. If you think we might be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so that we have an opportunity to meet. Book here: https://kstherapyservices.janeapp.com/#/staff_member/5
