(she/her)
Hello, and thanks for visiting!
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with a background in Gestalt Therapy, Social Work, Solution Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I partner with individuals through authentic relating, compassion, curiosity, awareness, self expression, advocacy, and solution building, integrating whatever modalities are best suited to your needs.
I am invested in de-stigmatizing mental health concerns and challenging normative standards of wellness. I hope to support you to better accept and embrace yourself, honor the unique challenges you have faced and survived, and bring yourself more fully to the world in a way that makes sense for you.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, person-centered, non-pathologizing, and is informed by anti-oppressive and feminist (intersectional) values. I strive to create an open and unassuming space by showing up as myself, and by inviting my clients to show up as themselves.
People I work with have a diverse range of lived experiences, inclusive of the LGBTQI2S+ community. Work we do together involves exploring the here and now of what’s going on in your life (the present), and when relevant, seeks to clarify experiences from the past that still impact you today. Sessions are strengths-based with focus on increasing self-awareness, resilience, and towards restoring self-worth, creativity, joy, and healthy self-affirming boundaries.
Working with a person first approach, I do not limit my practice to any specific issues but instead approach individuals as a whole person. Topics I have experience navigating include depression, anxiety, trauma, substance/drugs/medication use (harm reduction), body image, and relationship challenges.
Feel free to reach out for a 20 minute consultation at no charge to see if we might be a good fit! If for any reason we aren’t, I’m happy to support you in finding appropriate referrals and resources in the community.
*For the Low-Cost option, I am currently offering brief counselling (maximum of 12 sessions) to provide more support to folks during the pandemic.
