If you’re exploring this page, you’re likely experiencing some challenges impacting your life and relationships. You may feel consumed by stress, anger, worry, or feeling ‘not good enough’. Maybe you feel flooded by your emotions, or as though ‘something’ has been building inside you for a long time and it’s getting harder to go about your day. Maybe you’re doing things that feel harmful or unhealthy, feeling out of control, or just thinking ‘this’ isn’t how you want life to be. If anything here sounds familiar, I would love to support you in identifying your goals and building a life that is fulfilling, balanced, and worth living.
Hello, my name is Katie and I am a registered Social Worker. For the past 20 years, I have been practicing in both in the UK and Canada in the area of family and children’s services. Currently, my focus is in individual counselling with adults. In each of my roles, I have had the privilege of building trusting relationships and working collaboratively with both individuals and families. I truly believe that life is precious and my goal, while working from a strength-based and trauma-informed perspective, has been to increase family and individual functioning, despite the challenges that life brings.
I am experienced in supporting clients struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, depression, anger, attachment disruption, trauma and family related difficulties. I use EMDR therapy, supportive counselling techniques and advocacy, along with mindfulness techniques and solution-focused brief therapy, all while focusing on family and individual strengths.
My aim is to provide a calm and safe space where I can really get to know you. My approach is supportive and non-judgmental. I will meet you where you are at with your goals. My hope is that we can work together as you navigate your personal growth and achieve a greater sense of peace and well-being.
