I am excited to be joining the Everwell Team as the new Master’s student where I will be completing my practicum under the supervision of Carly Fleming. Building on my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brock University and postgraduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders from Mohawk College, I am currently completing my Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University. I am very passionate about helping others going through challenging life experiences that impact their emotional and mental health.
I have 4 years of experience working with abuse survivors using a trauma-informed approach and therefore understand how traumatic experiences can impact one’s overall mental health and well-being. I look forward to expanding on my experience by working with people of diverse backgrounds and genders on various topics/issues.
Providing a safe and comfortable space for clients is essential in building a trusting, therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, I will bring to sessions personal qualities such as active listening, empathy, authenticity, and a non-judgmental approach. I believe that the therapist and client are equals in therapy, and thus that therapy is a client centered and collaborative process in which clients can achieve positive change and personal growth. Counselling is not a one-size-fits-all approach; as such I create a customized approach using various modalities to help each client meet their personal needs and goals.
