Hello everyone! My name is Kelsy Mag I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), working under supervision. I have a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and my undergraduate degree is in Child and Youth Care Counselling. I, like you, I have had experiences in my life that have informed the ways I show up in and view the world. Being queer and neurodivergent I have had certain experiences that have led me to develop my approach to therapy and the therapeutic relationship. Most specifically I work from an anti-oppressive and strengths-based lens in my therapeutic space. I enjoy working with those who identify as 2SLGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and/or highly-sensitive. My clinical areas of interest include strengthening self-concept, processing religious trauma, and fat liberation – I firmly believe in health at every size (HAES) and am anti-diet. My therapeutic approach is highly client-centred and draws from various modalities including Parts Work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and focuses on an existential-humanistic approach. Our therapeutic relationship will be a focus of our work together. We will set goals, and you can always share your feelings on how things are going.
